Congratulations on being invited to The Fiat Lux Scholars Program!
Our Mission is to empower a select cohort of income-eligible, first-generation college students through intentionally structured services that ease their college transition, build a community of scholars, and enhance their student development.
We have a dedicated team of staff that is committed to helping you along your journey at UC Merced.
Below you will find important information regarding invited scholars.
Student Checklist
On your personalized checklist, you can find all of the requirements that you need to complete and the dates they need to be completed.
Each student has different Financial Aid, Admissions, registration, and residency requirements that need to be fulfilled, so your checklist might not look the same as your friend's or classmate's. Learn more about taking advantage of your checklist.

New Student Orientation
Attendance at this event is required for all new students, as participation in orientation will enhance social and academic success at UC Merced. Parents and loved ones are also encouraged to register in advance to attend the special programs planned specifically for them.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UC Merced’s Summer 2020 New Student Orientation will be delivered online. This decision was made to ensure the safety of incoming students, their families and loved ones, current students, and faculty and staff at UC Merced.
